Analysis of Sky

The sky is blue, isn't it?
Wait, I look up and now it's black.
But to say it's black would be to ignore the stars?
It's white, no grey...
But I can't see the sky, they are clouds,
But aren't clouds sky?
What is sky?
Is it simply a term by the word maker of centuries past?
