Analysis of Sea of Fire, Sea of Blood

I'm a lost cause and you
are a martyr
You're fighting a war
that's already been won

Reaching back
into the past
I grasp
and draw nothing back

Fragments of memory
Dream and reality
make no difference to me

I looked in the mirror,
grew horns and wept flame
These fables defy actuality

Sea of fire
Sea of blood
The angels will never again
descend upon us
Sea of fire
Sea of blood
The angels will never again
descend

I see you withering
at an empty altar
So be it
