Analysis of Muffin
over looks her game plan for
chasing water bugs and mice,
while her owner sets some poisons
for "things" in toilet pipes.
Muffin stretches her claw
on her birthday scratching post
but sharpens not her swat.
She prefers her muscle crunch
and roaches smashed on floors.
Muffin sighs and schemes
beyond the paw-worn lineoleum.
The fire escape carnations hide
daytime flocks of pigeons
Her master waves and feeds them.
They relish crunchy bites.
Muffin purrs and sighs...
Rest and wait for evening,
then I'll have a bite.
