Analysis of Lovely Betrayal

Bravery flashed his sword
and lashed out at his enemy,
only trying to be courageous
in an advantageous situation.
The admiration of Beauty he desired,
inspired by the thrill of battle
to dispose of the cattle at her feet
and pose as a better suitor.
Bravery wanted to loot her
for all that she was worth,
and though her mirth concealed it,
Beauty recognized the feeling.
If she spurned him, he would turn
and burn in fury and in spite
to ignite her frail features,
so she conspired with Betrayal.
Not caring what it entailed,
Beauty let Betrayal from lifelong prison,
belonging now to each other’s will
until the task was done.
In the palest light of the morning sun,
the deeds of the night had passed,
and Bravery’s tall figure lay dead in sight,
his blood on Beauty’s small hands.
