Analysis of Little Things Are Big Things

Little things are big things if the cupboard's bare.
We take it for granted when there's much to spare.
Turn the tap for water. Push levers for flush.
We take it for granted when the cascades gush.
Write a check for groceries. Use plastic for cash.
We take it for granted when the dealings dash.
Click remotes for TV. Flip a switch for light.
We take it for granted when the power's right.
Down the rate for cooling. Up the gauge for heat.
We take it for granted when the systems mete.
Find zephyrs each morning. Enjoy cool night air.
We take it for granted when the weather's fair.
Lift the phone for dialing. Press buttons for call.
We take it for granted when the linkings haul.
Awake able-bodied. Retire feeling well.
We take it for granted when the health is swell.
Little things are big things if missing from life.
We take it for granted when supplies are rife.
