Analysis of It was Only a Dream
In a dream I travelled
In a dream I flew
I'd stumbled on another world
A world I never knew
I ventured as I slumbered so peacefully and deep
I'd never roamed this way before
Was it more than just a sleep
I seemed so numb and lifeless
So wait-less did I feel
Suspended in this eerie glow
So timeless and surreal
I heard strange voices calling
They echoed soft and low
So peacefully contented
In this world I did not know
I felt that I was floating
Endlessly with ease
Flying through this ambience
Going where I please
Then I started drifting
To a bright and stronger light
Up and up I slowly climbed
As if my soul took flight
I felt no pain no sorrow
No fear and no regret
Spinning in this blissfulness
I'd never known as yet
But suddenly I stopped then fell
And down and down I went
Floating like a feather
As if from heaven sent
I had a heavy feeling
And tingling in my head
But then I woke and found myself
Lying in my bed
And so I share my little tale
Inspired by a dream
But now and then I ask myself
Are things all what they seem.
