Analysis of Halloween Descending
early in the morning
I awake in a sweat, my heart accelerating
the window unit is not cooling very well
what a strange and hollow sound it makes
it is quite eerie
just like the celestial orbs I invision
look out the patio door just to be sure
no, there are no cars passing by
the lights are still flashing small circles
I want to go back to sleep
but I will sleep no more on this grey morn
weary as I be, eerie as it is
I dismiss it as sleepy hallucinations
again I close my eyes
thoughts race to keep me awake
frustrated, I rise to turn the air up
ah soothing, cool air
I fall under the covers once more
convinced there are more dreams to dream
it is October, 28th as I lie awake
