Analysis of Going to
Today I went running.
Well I was Going to go running…
Until I realized running's hard
And I thought maybe if I did,
I'd deflate like a shrinking red balloon
When it's too cold outside
While I wasn't running I climbed a tree.
Well I was Going to climb a tree…
Until I realized it was tall like Jack's beanstalk
And I thought maybe if I climbed it,
An ugly giant would gobble me up
for supper
While I wasn't running I picked a flower.
Well I was Going to pick a flower…
Until I realized it was pretty in the grass
And I thought maybe if I picked it,
It would grow wrinkled like
Fingers on a beach day
While I wasn't running I wrote a poem.
