Analysis of Chained to Loneliness

Love took me
into her soft arms
and cradled me ever so slowly,
making the time pass by,
slipping me into dreams
of countless pleasures.
Then the cradle did fall,
and the dreams shattered,
breeding Loneliness:
the absence of Love,
Love, life’s supporter,
our saving grace.
If for Love, you are saved,
If for Loneliness,
God have mercy
on the perilous turn
your toils have taken,
and all those hardships.
Loneliness took me
for his own,
chaining me up,
waiting for the day
I would succumb
to his call.
After weeks of waiting,
Loneliness grew
impatient, angry,
and decided
there was no choice
but to cut out my heart.
My beating, glowing heart,
trembled beneath his stare,
“Save me, Love!”
I begged, I screamed,
only sending echoes
through the cavernous maze.
