Analysis of By Myself

The loneliness that I feel is unbearable

It's the first thing I feel when I wake
But not the last thing I know when I sleep
Because it haunts me through the night
I've tried to suppress it
Tried to erase it
But nothing seems to work
Nothing seems to takes its place
It's very persistent, this loneliness is
With close friends and family 6 hours away
And the object of my affection across the country
I can't see how things will get any better
I can't believe the situation will improve
With hurtful thoughts and feelings building up within
With negative ideas and emotions continuing to spin
I try to step outta the shadows
But by then, the moon is already out
Try my best to mask my frustration and sadness
Try my best to cover my desperation and madness
It doesn't work, it won't work
Running much too deep is a world full of hurt
So I throw my hands in the air and scream enough is enough
With this teary white flag, I…give up
