Analysis of Beautiful Child

Beautiful Child.
Let me cup your face in my hand,
so I can gaze at the innocence in your eyes,
and marvel at the purity of your soul.
Let me recapture the magic that beats in your heart,
as it did in mine, when I was you.

One day you will draw a veil over this time of wonder,
as you pack your cherished toys and priceless treasures
in a crate marked Childhood's end.
And your innocence and purity will nestle into the empty spaces between the childhood memories.

Sigh beautiful child,
as you close the lid on that magical world.
A world that solely exists in the unsullied heart of beauty.

Be strong as your future unfurls before you,
and the candy coated dreams of childhood get cast aside.
And do not yet cry
in fear of the journey ahead,
for all adults throughout the world
are crying for you.
While you sleep your innocent sleep
we will be silently weeping,
anticipating the pain and heartbreaks
that are yet to lay themselves upon you.
And we will cry for lost childhoods,
that were so full of future promises.
And we will cry for lost pasts
that were full of children's dreams.
But most of all I will cry for you.
Beautiful Child.
I love you.
