Half of her world walked out of her life.
Leaving the other half fueling on strife.

No more “daddy loves you” and kisses goodnight.
No more little princes and no more brave knight.

When daddy left to raise another little girl.
Her tender broken heart would never unfurl.

She will eternally pay for her father’s sin.
Her childhood lost and her struggles begin.

For how could she trust any man to stay?
When her own daddy left and went far away.

And how could I fix a heart that never matured?
How could I change views forever obscured?

My independence left her truly unnerving.
Yet, when I’d show love she felt undeserving.

I could not fix the piece that was left far behind.
I could not fill the love of her daddy’s declined.

So, God bless her father for giving her life.
And Goddamn her father for taking my wife.
