Analysis of A Past Life Beckons
A branch snaps in the forest of my mind
Whispers of a face long forgotten
The slow drip of a fading flame still near
Echoes batter an inner realm as I gasp.
As I champion the need to return once more
I fight the damning urge with hardened heart
Wind in face, earth take me down
Drowning desires wilt my resolve and overcome.
This sacred past soothes and corrodes my vessel
Embrace this gift that few understand
I take leave of you all but for a moment....
A lifetime once cherished to breathe again.
