Analysis of Remember
Emerancia Hangula 1997 (Walvis Bay, Erongo Region)
I was once yours
but you didn't deserve me
You made sure I was happy
so that you could take it away
You made me think I wasn't good enough for you
turns out,
you weren't for me
We gave each other everything
Yet you kept stealing from me
Was what I gave you not enough?
or did you wish to take my soul too?
Our beginning was beautiful
It felt pure
It felt as though it could withstand a storm tenfold
yet a light breeze destroyed it
One day,
when you have no one
and the world feels cruel
and you need someone to hold your hand
to guide you through the fog
Shield you from your demons
I held out my hand to you
and you cast it aside
