Analysis of I wonder

Victoria Davalos 2005 (Mexico)

Trashy Poetry 0.2
“I wonder”

I wonder, oh I wonder why the days are slower
While the nights are longer
The nights I spend in my cold room
Without your warmth that felt like a sunny afternoon

Oh, I wonder why you’re not choosing me
Although I may know the reason
I won’t face it, since it would feel like the coldest season
However, I tell myself to just let it be

I wonder why my tears keep feeling heavier and falling slower
As if thunderstorms dropped from my eyes
Yet I enjoy that constant sinking of my safe barrier
Feeling like I dissolve pleases me after many cries

Maybe overtime I’ll stop wondering and start acknowledging
The fact that you don’t want me anymore
Questioning, what are you waiting for?
A spontaneous turn in this story
That unfortunately didn’t lead me to an eternal glory…
