Analysis of Hear the sound of that!

Hadassah Joyce Pushpa 2008 (Hyderabad)

We all hear many voices
And sounds every day
A sound in our crisis,
A voice in our Hurrays

When we're in the middle of strife,
All we need's an encouraging voice
And we soon'll win in our life
Just 'cause we made the right choice!

But do you know
Some things have a plea
They don't know what to do, or whom to go
Or where should they see

And some other things
That say, 'Help me out'
And trustworthy are some other things
That we can heed them, no doubt

A voice that says,
'Why're you endangerin' me'
Another voice that says,
'Why're you forgetting me?'

Another one that says,
'Let me be free!'
Yet another one that says,
'Free me in the sea!'

So do you

Hear the sound of that?
Hear the voice of that?
That says,
'Don't cut me down!'

Yes, do you

Hear the sound of that?
Hear the voice of that?
That says,
'I belong to the boughs!'

Oh, do you

Hear the sound of that?
Hear the voice of that?
That says,
'Don't pluck and trample me!'

Yes, do you

Hear the sound of that?
Hear the voice of that?
That really loves the world
And you and me

Oh, now you know
That some things have false pleas
They want to trick you, wherever you go
Don't heed them, please!

And there are some things

That say, 'Please heed me now'
But check the facts, don't trust those things
That say, 'Come; let's decieve some now!'

Don't heed voices that say,
'Come along'
Never, ever heed them that say,
'In doing bad; there's nothing wrong

Don't you heed them that say,
'Let's go and trick them!'
Never go that way
'Let's steal these gems!'

Now, don't you
Hear the sound of that!
Don't hear the voice of that!
That says,

'I'll give you this if you follow me!'

Hear the sound of that!
Hear the voice of that!

'I'll do you this if you heed me!'

Oh, don't ever

Hear the sound of that!
Hear the voice of that!

'Come and follow me!'
Yes, don't you ever

Hear the sound of that!
Hear the voice of that!

Drown you in the sea
