Analysis of Reaching out

If I reached out to take your hand
would you meet me in return
Or turn away in sorrow
as if my touch had burned
I dont know how to reach you
       so many times ive tried
Only to fill with sorrow
       the many tears ive cried
In the past I took a selfish stand
the path I took was wrong
Many roads I traveled
        tho I did not belong
I did not see you standing there
         reaching out to me
Waiting for an answer
         that would set you free
I did not see the pain and sorrow
          brought about by me
All im asking now
is to find it in your heart
To forgvive me for the past
and help me with a start
