Analysis of Is It The Moon? A millennial’s memoir.

Eyes blink awake in darkness

I squint at the blue-bright screen
Praying for a decent hour...

It couldn’t at least be 4??

Why am I awake.

The bed’s too hard
I stared at the screen too long
I ate too late
It’s that time of the month

Or could it be... the full moon?

Oh how I want it to be the moon.

Could my body be so in tune?

That I am awoken
by Her gleaming, sparkling
magical, no, mystical
full, reflection?

Could it be?

I stay in bed smiling to myself
Proud

Yes, that must be it.
I’m just so balanced
So in touch

I am awoken
By this marvelous marble
In the sky

This lovely luna
Oh, how I love thee
Mrs Moon

Why thank you for waking me
For shaking me
From my peaceful slumber

Where I was peacefully dreaming
Safely dreaming on a comfy cloud
With no desire to remain
For I wished to feel your connection
Dear Luna.

It’s not even a full moon, dammit!
It’s not a new moon!
Mercury is NOT retrograde!

So please tell me,
Why am I awake?!

Oh yeah
“Have you tried those
Blue-light blocking glasses?”

Nahh it’s probly the moon
