Analysis of Unspoken

Time since long has passed, but forgiving myself; I find a much more difficult task. My foul determination and broken pride, lead me blindly to hurt and mislead you. I spoke untruths to push all away, to be left with a false face of bravado, and of a soul feeling tainted. All the while my heart in turmoil, and still I held my chin up high. Battered and bruised by the fists of another, all the while hiding from you the black and blue that was my body. No words of my troubles had I spoken for fear that you'd do something foolish. With my heart filled with love and fear, I set forth to secure your future. For I knew you belonged elsewhere, and that I was not to go with you. You'd not had gone had I told you all that had been true. When we parted ways I forced an outward cal?. It was only by the sheer force of will that I held back the sting of tears that threatened to fall. For “Us”, I wept.....for “You”, I yearned.... for “Me”, I lived on with all that was unspoken.
