Angel of the morning, my rose from the sky,
More precious than diamond to me, I do not lie.
You're the Lily by the sea, very lovely to the eyes,
See what beauty within your tender temple lies!
My love for you is like a fountain which daily flows
Down to the garden of my soul where your love grows.
Darling, eat knowledge's apple so you'd be able to see
The way I love you and my heart's gentle plea:
Doubt that the sun gives his burning bright light,
Doubt that the stars shine very lovely at night,
Doubt other loves, for they are but false,
Doubt the earth and its daily course;
