Analysis of The Hooker

out on the street faces to meet
tricks for a screw a parting few
the mix master or the tumbleweed
a careless deed

heroin took my next of kin
let me be the first to begin again
She works on the dock past 8th Street and 12 North
snorts a line or two before she screws

she's a slave of the street coupled with a flare of regret
remember when she was down to the lowest pit
no one seemed to care nor give a shit
there she walked again on the Sunset strip feeding baggars blind

faces,hands & feet
a newer way by which to meet & greet
all those gentlemen in waiting would end with a smile
to know all the great while she was dying inside

stripped naked on a Burger King cement floor that good for nothing whore
but no sooner as she slammed the door a preacher man met her to help change her life
it started off slowly but she accepted his invitation for church
now for what it was worth she lost her purse

inside was the only picture of her mother and brother
she cried until late in the night yet never gave up on the fight
her faith was grounded and she rose from the ashes
no more free passes nor second glances

God worked a work in her and she was forgiven
still hard pressed for cash she worked at her local seven eleven
she knew God had big plans when her former pimp got word of her transformation
beat her into a stupor and hospitalized her

wasting away on a hospital bed
there was met by her loving savior who took care of her
The hooker would never forget a life of many regrets,
when she got out she soared to new heights

Never did relent to give up on the fight
