Analysis of The Midnight Train

Did you ever hear the sound of birds in flight through the painted sky
the silence of a fallen star lights up a purple sky in its vast current
over the post of engines running in full blast there come the midnight train
fallen emblems of parting quest in full view of its rotation
life is filled with the ups and down in the high & lows

smoke comes from its firey mast under the under pass
at last we can visibly of what was once such a vast mystery
hopes that cling in the midnight hour ever eager to agree
the flight of the honey bee as busy as it could be
we learn from moments such as these as that of a faint message from a homily

we still proceed and watch those bleed
soaring ever higher as the eagle sets out in flight into the night
whispers on the near portal light the flame of anticipation
we grasp for a message like grasping for straws
in obeying its vast opened laws for a good enough cause

The midnight train calls each of us near
to hear the message or shed a tear
yet through lucid dreams and things coming apart at the seams
we can learn as one soul soars the other will soon burn
so come follow me away from our mere Peyton place & get a taste
to what it is all along we have been searching for
