Analysis of I'M an irish republican
~~~
I am an Irish republican for my nation is prevented
From self- determining our own future because of
British military and political occupation.
~
Arising from the latter circumstances many
Of our people have been slaughtered by
Britain’s brutal military activity as well
As in the year of 1847 an enforced famine
Of devastating destruction.
~
Many thousands were forced to emigrate and
Many, many others brought to death by hunger
Strike, the hangman, and bullets, …
~
But as authentic followers of Wolfe Tone- our
Protestant founder- let it be carried by the western
Breeze to Britain that we are determined to remove
Britain and to see Ireland a free nation once more.
