Analysis of Fragile Butterfly

She came to you, she didn't belong
 You knew she was fragile, not very strong
 Delicate, dainty, full of grace
 Gossomer, silk, wings of lace

No barriers, no cold stony wall
 Lovingly giving to you her all
 Ecstatically, joyously she gave her trust
 You did what you did, what you felt you must

You used, abused, loved and hid from the world, never let it be said
 petted...
 She brought a mountain of pleasure to your place
 With her strange little ways, her happy little face

She shut out the world, there were only you two
 Yet daily, away from you she grew
 Flitting away at the end of the day
 Away for a moment, tomorrow she'll delay

It's wings you broke, it's heart left sore
 Web-like threads tied her to you evermore
 The pain she carries forever with her
 You heard not a sigh, but a soft murmur

Perhaps one day she'll again venture near
 More slowly, not quickly as she'll now disappear
 No words can be spoken, nothing said by you
 She is as softly transparent as the morning dew

Never can you mend, do you know naught why ?
 She's afraid to again fly up to you
 You heard not a sigh, but a sob and a cry
 When you kissed the wings of a butterfly
