Analysis of The gardener
As he dug the spring soil I felt
That he was a part of it,
Perhaps arising from the
Fact of fifty years as a gardener.
~
In fact as it occurred he appeared
To be unaware of where he actually
Was, or what he was, for he appeared
In a world of his own.
~
In truth he appeared to be unaware
Of anything but the gifts that he
Delivered was far, far, beyond
The human imagination.
~
With flowers alone the site is beyond
Description for in fact in the wake
Of blooming it mesmerised
My very being…
~
Across the months the blooming of
Snowdrops, Bluebells, Lilies, Lobelias,
Roses, and others, via the gardener’s
Labour unveiled the creations of God.
~
And as I observed him during the seasons
I personally and often wondered whether
Our local gardener and neighbour was
Aware that he was an artist of nature?
