Analysis of The cursed flea
Whit glory an’ whit horror jaunts jilted jolly there
Where evils taint azure blue skies
Frae hell spewed forth its vap’rous spies
Tae start a fire here an’ there, maim, murder, steal an’ swear lack horse, white, freak an’ aw dae haunt the timb’r o’ the wa’
Whit glory an’ whit scandal jaunts jilted jolly there
Where hallowed wings unwearied guard o’er ilk o’ aw affair
Tae leap this orb o’ step times three, devour the bark o’ hamely tre; black horse, white, grisled an’ aw consume the timb’r o’ the wa’
Whit glory an’ whit scandal jaunts jilted jolly there
Where evils taunt azure blue skies, frae hell spewed forth a howdling spy
Tae start a fire here an’ there, maim, murder, steal an’ swear, black horse, white, freak an’ aw, dae haunt the timb’r o’ the wa’
Tae hell heence back yon curse abroad when Noah’s era drown’d, an’ Clootie claimed its evil old ‘neath an oglin’ moon confound
Wheence dust has dusht the cursed flea an’ gold the prairie sunder’d, peace will reign wance mair oan earth, aw’ free frae fiery thunder
