Analysis of This Trip

I prayed a prayer once not knowing that it was ordained,
And in this knowledge my hope was inflamed,

To have a relationship with you my Lord the same as a once small child,
Then amongst the lies and confusion my love for you was defiled,

The purpose, I believe, was to bring me back to a pureness in spirit with you,
Where sin removed through your forgiveness made our relationship new,

In my weakness your strength is shown,
Through the blood of Jesus Christ my sins are attoned,

Before I was old enough to be decieved that I had any control,
In my weakness as a child your love for me was pure and whole,

After many attempts as an adult to be perfect for you,
It took the breaking to show me that I was made new,

In my love for you Lord, I did my best to be obedient to you,
And you continued to show me that regardless of my failure you would do for me what I myself could not do.
