Elles grincent, mes girouettes,
Sur le pauvre toit en lambeaux.
Tous les arbres, grands et nabots,
Ont de lugubres silhouettes !

Dans la saison des alouettes,
Quand les cieux dorment sans flambeaux,
Elles grincent mes girouettes
Sur le pauvre toit en lambeaux.

Comme elles font des pirouettes
Dès que les jours ne sont plus beaux !
Le matin, avec les corbeaux,
Et le soir, avec les chouettes,
Elles grincent mes girouettes !
