Quand on arrive au Val des Ronces
On l’inspecte, le cœur serré,
Ce gouffre épineux, bigarré
De rocs blancs qu’un torrent noir ponce.

Partout, sous ce tas qui s’engonce,
Guette un dard, toujours préparé,
Qui, triangulaire, acéré,
Si peu qu’il vous pique, s’enfonce.

S’y risquer ? le sourcil se fronce !
En sort-on, une fois entré ?
Qu’on appelle ? pas de réponse...
C’est si loin, si seul, si muré !

Puis, ce fouillis démesuré
Innombrablement vous dénonce
Ces aspics, dont du rouge fonce
Le jaunâtre et le mordoré :
On n’est pas du tout rassuré
Quand on arrive au Val des Ronces !
