Analysis of La Ventouse
Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)
La Ventouse bâille et sourit,
Toujours neuve et toujours masquée
Pour notre œil fou, sage ou contrit ;
Corolle aspireuse, et braquée
Sur notre sang qui la fleurit.
Elle nous tente et nous flétrit
De son haleine âcre et musquée,
Puis, bientôt, elle nous tarit,
La Ventouse,
Jusqu’au fin fond de notre esprit
Sa succion est pratiquée :
La Mort, beaucoup moins compliquée,
Mange nos corps qu’elle pourrit ;
Mais c’est tout l’homme qui nourrit
La Ventouse !
