Analysis of La Petite Souris

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

La petite souris blanchette
Glisse d’un pas bref et menu
Autour du bébé presque nu
Qui gigote sur sa couchette.

Et tandis que sur sa manchette
L’enfant bave, rose et chenu,
La petite souris blanchette
Glisse d’un pas bref et menu.

Crac ! la voilà sur la planchette
À deux doigts du frêle ingénu !
Mais le chat noir est survenu :
Elle rentre dans sa cachette,
La petite souris blanchette.
