Allez, mes vers, allez; je me confie en vous;
Allez fléchir son coeur, désarmer son courroux;
Suppliez, gémissez, implorez sa clémence,
Tant qu'elle vous admette enfin à sa présence.
Entrez: à ses genoux prosternez vos douleurs,
Le deuil peint sur le front, abattus, tout en pleurs;
Et ne revoyez point mon seuil triste et farouche,
Que vous ne m'apportiez un pardon de sa bouche.
