De ce royal palais que bâtiront mes doigts,
Si la bonté du roi me fournit de matière,
Pour rendre sa grandeur et beauté plus entière,
Les ornements seront de traits et d'arcs turquois.
Là d'ordre flanc à flanc se verront tous nos rois,
Là se verra maint faune et nymphe passagère,
Sur le portail sera la vierge forestière,
Avecques son croissant, son arc et son carquois.
L'appartement premier Homère aura pour marque,
Virgile le second, le troisième Pétrarque,
Du surnom de Ronsard le quatrième on dira.
Chacun aura sa forme et son architecture,
Chacun ses ornements, sa grâce et sa peinture,
Et en chacun, Clagny, ton beau nom se lira.
