Comme jadis l'ame de l'univers
Enamourée en sa beaulté profonde,
Pour façonner cette grand' forme ronde,
Et l'enrichir de ses thesors divers,

Courbant sur nous son temple aux yeulx ouvers,
Separa l'air, le feu, la terre, et l'onde,
Et pour tirer les semences du monde
Sonda le creux des abismes couvers :

Non autrement, ô l'ame de ma vie !
Tu feus à toy par toymesme ravie
Te voyant peinte en mon affection,

Lors ton regard d'un accord plus humain
Lia mes sens, ou Amour de sa main
Forma le rond de ta perfection.
