Analysis of Song

James Thomson 1700 (Port Glasgow) – 1748 (London)

Arrays the laughing fields in green,
Then flowers in open air are seen,
And warbling birds are heard to sing,

Doth sweetly move
All nature through;
Then tell me, Chloe, why are you
Averse thereto;
When blooming charms
Invite your lover's circling arms?
O be no longer coy
..................... to love and share of joy.
