Analysis of I’m just different

I’m different
I’ve always been different…
Stained, damaged, odd,
Stand up for the underdog…
Cant hurt me…leave them alone.
Looking for peace…not wanting people to know the real me…
Party hard….no regrets
Only to find more pain than I could imagine…
Pick myself up…begin to fly
Find a love no one could deny…
Lost my best friend…keep pushing on
Found my soul mate…blue skies ahead…
Things go wrong…so many mistakes
So much fear…spinning out of control…
Try to quiet the storm…
Make it all ok again…more and more and more mistakes…
Still different, stained, damaged, odd.
Older now…still trying to swim
I’m ok…I always am.
So much love to give…
Desire to heal…
Desire to feel wanted, valued, adored…
I’ve ruined all that…
I still keep swimming…
I don’t have a choice…
It’s harder each year…
Still don’t want to show the real me…
People won’t like what they see…
So I smile and I swim and I wish I could do it all over again.
