Analysis of At The End, Today
Tabitha J. Bryson 1973 (Indianapolis, Indiana)
The creeping sages henceforth speak
Spouting messages none too deep
Lost inside the garden's world
Lies the mind of an empty headed girl
Thinking deep thoughts not her own
Abstract wonderings all a glow
Madness lingers skipping about
Voices screaming within without
The pallid music both far & near
A restless wandering a soulless cheer
Bound together leather & pill
Cold cold room echoes the shrill
A scream a plea for none to hear
None to dry her salty tears
An ache so pure it has no name
Only to be felt by guilt and shame
Days go by counting leaves
Still and all she grieves, she grieves
Another pill and sleep to come
Count the seconds one by one
Voices gently drift away
At the end today, today.
