Analysis of Death as a personality
Megbehingbe Oluwarotimi Festus 1967 (Odo Ape)
A visitor that is most familiar, yet ever new in his visit,
With his cold hand, he takes lives before many bid farewell.
He makes mortals cry, and by no means is he filled with the souls of men.
Who can dare his fiery look? Not a friend to behold.
He displaces blossoming flower, puts out light at noon,
He disdains efforts of man to live, raises endless questions,
meal becomes a burden to swallow, taste buds become sour,
unfathomable fever overwhelms the bereaved.
The Earthly trembles at his imminent, fear running through their spine
Oh! If hapless men have control over him; They could have chained him eternally, and if he must come, they would choose when they wanted him.
Who among the mighty and lowly can resist him?
Fame & wealth cannot appease your soul’s harvest
Power & affluence do not scare you; neither do you pity the poor
His unfair deal takes the most needed life while the wicked escape.
Oh! That man knows the wisdom in you;
He would have prepared for the set-time, and looks forward to him,
No one knows his day of appointment,
Hence, he warns, “Do what you can do today, and do not delay.”
The wisest man cannot dissuade him, The foolish speed up his coming,
Lesson to remind humans; “Dusts you are & dust you must return”
A pathway to eternity—heaven or hell
A personality that will give up the dead in him
He & hell shall be thrown to lake of fire
He already looses control over those that are dead to self;
I mean to those who died to the world and live in Christ. Amen.
