Analysis of Wind Born

My love you fill my heart but we are not similar
I was born of the wind, meant to soar this land
I want to learn how I feel cut by thousands of blades
I want to see how water dances with me in the sweet springs
I was born to twist, to turn, to kiss the wings of birds with my beautiful song

My love you are my smile but you are not wind
You were born of earth, Meant to hold and support
You wish to bask in the light with love so deep it crushes
You wish to laugh so deep and true it shakes the land with joy
You were born to live, to create, to hold the world in a way that keeps our feet on the ground

My love we are opposites creating beautiful disasters in our wake
My love your valleys are my favorite to flow through at night
My love I hope you know that mountains were made from thousands of years from love
We may not be raging forrest fires, or thunderous hurricanes, But love we are the whirling tornadoes barreling through this life.
Love I will always be wind born flittering through the rooms like a rushing storm, and you will always be the rumbling laughter that keeps me alive.

About this poem

Me and my partner are very different people and it scares me most days. This is a poem about the fear, the love, and the acceptance. The wind born, Me, is scared because the earth born, My partner, is someone who doesn't understand what its like to be wind born. Because they are of two conflicting births the wind born fears the two of them are too different to make the relationship work. However Once the wind born stops trying to understand the relationship they see see all the things they do for each other and how they make it work.
