Analysis of Friendship

Let me tell you a story of a life I lived, where mercy found me and gave me a gift

I was on a rough journey with no hope in sight, my life had no meaning only darkness, no light

Then one cold December with nowhere to go, I found myself walking when the weather turn to snow

As if luck were my friend, a sound called me in, to a meeting taking place amongst some friends

The warmth that I felt was from more than the stove, for the words that I heard brought a peace I hadn't known

Their talk was of one, that gave up his life, for the love of the lost, he paid this great price

These word were like food to a starving soul. I fell on my knees... this man... I must know

Those praying that day as I enter the church, gave all of their time so, I'd know his word

Then after hearing their story of an amazing grace, I lay down my life and joined His race

Though this is only a story I put to the pen, I wonder how many down and out, a friendship might win
