Analysis of My eighteenth birthday: Accepting the flickering lights.

Today I turned 18,
The day I FANTASISED 10 YEARS BACK
But today, when finally I turned 18,
All fantasies vanish into society's trap,
Where every day face the world of realities,
Where the birthdays will be a formality,
The wishes of the card will be replaced by msg,
The decoration of my room, which now are just memories, will be turned into stranger parties,
The people with whom we cherish the day will all be busy,
The excitement of the day will turn into just another birthday cake.

Yes, I turn 18,
but with the cost of losing the whimsical delight where little things were wonders wrapped,
With the acceptance of the future quality,
Just a truth that I avoided,
has put me in amidst of chaus I never imagined,
To be a mere adult with individuality,
The Dream of this day has vanished,
With the fear that,
Is blowing these candles which yesterday I brought,
will diminish the light of my inner child with expectations I never thought.

However, with the advent of adulthood,
Will not fade the joy of childhood,
It will always remain,
We curse adulthood for being the flickery light with shadows of doubt,
But adulthood is something that gives us the realization to gain,
Mold us to the ability to sustain,
In the bitter truth of realities,
With the sweet challenges to maintain.

Yes, I turned 18,
With emotions, I never felt,
Accepting the childhood I've left,
And embracing the future I've stepped,
Hoping to make it something I can adore.
