Analysis of Secret

SECRET
You crept into my dreams one night, and gently stole a kiss.
Igniting things inside of me, I thought did not exist.
I should not think of you this way, because I know it's wrong.
You play inside my head all day, just like my favorite song.
Another day and time I think, we may have had a chance.
To get to know each other well, without a second glance.
But then reality sets in, to clearly make me see.
That there could never be a chance, at love for you and me.
Whoever ever holds your heart right now, is lucky as can be.
I'm very envious of her, because it isn't me.
To friends nor foe, can I reveal, my deepest thoughts of you.
This burden I must carry, but this I always knew.
I'm driving myself crazy, with this secret that I hold, And had to find a clever way in which it could be told.
They say the very best in life, is free but that's not true.
For if it were, then I'd be free to bare myself to you.
But since I can't, these parting words, I leave you to reflect, That come what may, no matter what, it's you I won't forget.
Yours truly...
