Analysis of TEDDY BEAR PLEASE TALK TO ME

TEDDY BEAR PLEASE TALK TO ME
TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW
TELL ME WHAT HAS HAPPENED
IN THIS ROOM SO COLD

TELL ME WHY HE SHAKES WITH FEAR
TELL ME SO I’LL KNOW
TELL ME WHAT HE FEARS THE MOST
THIS PRECIOUS FIVE YEAR OLD

TEDDY BEAR PLEASE TALK TO ME
TELL ME WHAT HE FEARS
TELL ME WHAT HAS HAPPENED
YOU WERE ALWAYS HERE

YOU WERE HERE TO SEE HIS FACE
TO HEAR THE SILENT SCREAM
TO DRY THE TEARS UPON HIS CHEEKS
YOU KNOW IT’S NOT A DREAM

I WISH THAT YOU COULD TALK TO ME
SO I COULD STOP THE BEAST
SO THAT THIS PRECIOUS FIVE YEAR OLD
COULD SIMPLY SLEEP IN PEACE

TEDDY BEAR PLEASE HOLD HIM TIGHT
HELP HIM TO SURVIVE
HELP HIM GAIN THE STRENGTH TO TELL
OF THE TERRORS IN HIS NIGHT

TEDDY BEAR PLEASE TALK TO ME
TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW
TELL ME WHAT HAS HAPPENED
IN THIS ROOM SO COLD

HOW CAN I CLOSE MY EYES TONIGHT
KNOWING WHAT I KNOW
A LITTLE ONE WILL SHAKE WITH FEAR
THIS PRECIOUS FIVE YEAR OLD

HOW CAN ANYONE WHO HEARS
THIS STORY, LET ME KNOW
HOW CAN YOU TURN YOUR HEAD AWAY
HOW CAN YOU BE SO COLD

HOW MANY CHILDREN SUFFER NOW
HOW MANY TEDDIES KNOW
HOW OFTEN DO THEY DRY THE TEARS
OF THE PRECIOUS CHILD THEY HOLD

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH
DO YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW
THEN DO NOT TURN YOUR HEAD AWAY
DO NOT BE SO COLD

HELP THE CHILDREN SLEEP IN PEACE
HELP THE CHILDREN TELL
HELP THE TEDDIES DRY THEIR TEARS
SEND THE BEAST TO HELL

TEDDY BEAR PLEASE TALK TO ME
TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW
TELL ME WHAT HAS HAPPENED
IN THIS ROOM SO COLD

About this poem

I wrote this poem along with others several years ago when I was a single parent raising 2 small boys since they were in diapers after a nasty divorce. My previous wife abused my children and it was a long road to help them recover. I was also a house parent at home for abused children and had dealt with the sufferings of other children as well. This was one of my ways of coping with the bad things and keeping strong for my kids.

Michael T Sommer

I grew up in small town with fantastic parents . I raised 2 boys on my own and remarried after they were on their own. Today I live in Springfield, MO . I have been married for past 8 years to wonderful lady with 2 additional children I consider as my own as well. I realized that maybe it is time to share some of these poems that could help the children of our world. I may be off on the date written on poems. I just decided to do this and could get more exact on date or fairly close. I'm not sure if I should do this but need to see more…
