Analysis of Letting Go

My silence was my enemy
For so many years, time stood still
Nothing changes if nothing changes
What was taken was my own free will...
I had forgotten who I was
Darkness had become my friend
My mind would race on and on
I'd sit and wonder - Would it ever end?
I had tried so many times
To dig down deep inside
I searched for a better version of myself
So, I slowly sat back and swallowed my pride...
I asked and reached out for help
Over and over again
Searching for an answer - Even a reason
Even a helping hand someone could lend...
I knew that I was broken
Just a shell of who I used to be
Hoping that maybe, maybe someday
My eyes would open and I'd finally be able to see..
I realize that I have a purpose
I had to let go, listen and grow
My greatest lessons were learned
Thru my mistakes, I truly now know...
Today, I can smile
Even hold my head up high
And for the pain I caused myself and others
That person is gone- To her I say Goodbye...
There will always be more tomorrows
Every day is a brand new day
To love and to be loved
I will forever live my life- Just For Today...
