Analysis of Prolonging This Nose Grows
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Notice!
The prolonging growth.
Of Pinocchios' wooden nose.
Even to be,
A fantasy fictioned.
Lies told to create and make them up,
Has gone to be a teaching method...
For adults and children.
Testing their deceptions.
As if forgiveness given,
Will come no matter what...
Whose lives are disrupted.
And left ruined into pieces.
With a doing to glue back together again.
Like wood.
To mend, heal without feelings felt.
Or accept the difference between,
Once to have had been a human being!
Done to assume and believe,
That which has a nose to grow...
Every time a lie is told.
May not be seen,
On the face of a human being.
Yet that exception not to teach it well,
Children growing to become adults...
Seem unable to apply,
These fictionalized deceiving fantasies...
As depictions of themselves.
'No one should take these made up fantasies,
As a depiction of reality.
And besides...
Who would believe a boy created from wood,
With a nose that grows...
Every time that boy lies,
Has anything to do with being human?'
'That's the message.
But no one gets the meaning of it!'
'I guess not.
No one who tells lies,
To accept and believe them told.
Has a nose that grows!'
'And that is the message,
Lost as a lesson not taught to teach!
To may be the reason,
Many,
Young and old.
Have plastic surgery on their faces!
You know...
To disguise and prevent,
The true reality of their identities!'
'LOL...
STOP!
STOP THIS NONSENSE NOW!'
'What other reason,
Would people try...
Stopping the growth of their noses?
Think about it!'
'Why?
People are wearing masks these days.
To protect them from diseases.
And thank God they are.
Have you seen some of these faces?
And I bet not one of them,
Has a beware sign or a dog barking.
What would be the need?
To make them feel safe inside their homes?
Once they open the door,
Making their presence known.
Who in their right mind would trespass?
And you talk about Pinocchio?
That boy is lucky to have a nose that grows.
Then after lieing to admit it,
His nose returns to its normal size?
You know that's got to be a fantasy!
A long time ago,
I went to see that movie Godzilla?
That was it for me.
For whatever the reason,
I recognized that face.
Oh no.
I knew then,
This creature was not the only one around.
Too familiar were his features.'
