Analysis of I looked thru the window

I looked thru the window
The window of my eyes
My soul deep within
Afraid to come into contact
Into contact with reality
For, reality is terrible

Reality is cruel and it hurts
And burns me when i touch it
Like an unwavering lamp
A lamp that can't be put out
Which feeds on your needs
And only burns brighter

How do I exchange this?
For another, better one?
What do I give up?
And how do I give in?
To draw closer to that window
And look through it
