Analysis of Beauty Within

I open my eyes
Feel the world beneath my feet
My fingers wiggle with glee
Noticing all the potential
In the day

I glanced out my window
Seeing the sway in the trees
I made a way
To my bible
Opening the pages
Filled with highlights
Reading the words
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, my soul knows this well”
Psalms 139-14
The verse I was always referred to
Once I mentioned insecurities
"God made you"
"You’re beautiful" they said

I agreed with skepticism laced
 Throughout my thoughts
How can everyone be beautiful
That just can't be
Cause growing up
We were split into these groups of those
Who just had this outer glow
And those who were deemed
Just a little bit raggedy all below
Those who just didn't fit into
the standard of beautiful

So how could all be beautiful
The question seemed just a little vain to ask
But "God I want a answer"
I said
And he responded by simply
 Widening my eyes

Beauty in the
They way our lips curl up
When we find something amusing
In the manner our eyes crinkle
While veiling our hopes and wonders

The way as we age
Our wrinkles and lines
Wrapped around our face
Tell a tale
That continues to prevail

They way our tongues
Absorb the flavor of the world

The way we burst with excitement
When surrounded by others
We have grown to love

The way we come in all
Different shapes and sizes

The way our lips smack and
arms cross with emotions
That continually flow
Wilder than rivers

The way we
segregate into differing cultures with different customs,
But still share the same breath
That sustains

The way we all have unique prints
On the very tip of every hand

We are beautiful
Beauty found in every morsel
That makes us human
In every morsel that makes
 Me just me
And you just you
