Analysis of Alone
Juan A Soto Jr 1969 (NY)
Alone in the darkness, my soul set to roam,
An emptiness, a hole, no place to call home,
Years upon years of false love in my heart,
Each chapter of life, full of constant restarts,
It was over, I was broken, it was not meant to be,
Forever a prisoner, I’d never be free,
My soul set to wander, no mate in sight,
I accepted my fate, I had no more fight,
My heart grew colder, unable to cope,
No one to love, I’d given up hope,
Then out of the blue, with no warning at all,
Could it be, there is life in my heart after all?
First a smile, then a giggle, then a feeling so sweet
Once again deep inside I can feel my heart beat
Suddenly a person who was simply overlooked,
Now has my thoughts, my heart and my soul all hooked
Where did you come from? Where have you been?
Can I make you all mine? If I can then I win.
I whisper your name in my dreams every night
You’re my beacon in darkness, my eternal light
Your laughter a melody that sings to my ears
Your touch so soft, you ease all my fears
I found my sweet love, my sunshine so true,
My forever and ever, I will always choose you
You’re a treasure for sure, sweet and divine,
My wish for the future is our lives intertwined.
Once again, I have purpose, as I yearn for your touch
You saved my soul from the brink and I love you so much.
