Analysis of Live Again
Once we were 12 and 11 and 10
Hoping that we'd never come to an end
We lived together as in love as could be
But now I am 16 and you're still 13
I'll never forget those marks on your arm
I cried that night, believing I did you harm
Maybe if I acted, maybe then I could see
But still I am 17 and you're still 13
But we have to learn to live again
I'll never forget you, my old friend
I'll see you on the other side
I'm sorry that I let you die
Sometimes I visit the place where you lay
Sometimes I wish I could always stay
Maybe if I joined you, maybe then I'd be free
But I will stay 18 and you'll 13
I know I miss you and your lovely smile
Why did this world take a wonderful child?
Sometimes I think I'll never be happy
But I will stay 19 and you'll stay 13
But we have to learn to live again
I'll never forget you, my old friend
I'll see you on the other side
I'm sorry that I let you die
But still I must learn to live again
I'll never forget you, my old friend
I'll see you on the other side
I suppose it's time to say goodbye
I'm sorry that I let you die

About this poem
This is a song I wrote for my silly little band JermySmell. Maybe someday I'll record, but you'll have heard it here first.
