Analysis of Grandmuttie
No need to linger
In the In-Between
For great things are awaiting you
And when you get there
I hope you dance, sing, and sway to your favorite music
Every pulse of a drum and stretched high note
Autumn Leaves
John Phillip Sousa
Mozart
I Know This Much is True
I hope you do all the line dances and shimmy and shake on a golden floor
I hope you read your favorite health articles
I hope you watch Murder She Wrote and Columbo a million times over
I hope you eat your favorite foods
All you can eat pound cake and Luby's that never closes
I hope you talk about the Bible, history, politics, music, and health
And when you're not talking, I hope you type on an infinite type-writer
Every stroke of your finger, a story
I hope you watch your favorites on MSNBC Keep them honest
I hope you run
No, Speed Walk, until your legs are weary from joy
I hope you are never cold and your skin glistens in a perpetual heat wave
I hope you dress in white, or cream, or beige
Of lace and cotton
With pearls around your dainty neck
Your hair long and elegant bundled on top of your head
Your signature scarf and hat perfectly affixed
I hope you embrace your Mother and Brother. I hope you have a long laugh and a good cry. I hope you sit down with Aunt Grace and Brad over dinner.
I hope you take a walk down memory lane.
I hope your "Dobies" and your canine friends, come leaping up to you; ever grateful for your care.
I hope you meet our Maker. I hope He tells you, "well done, time to rest my child".
I hope He walks you through the gardens
Filled with bougainvillea and hydrangea
I hope you rest
I hope you know how much you mean to us.
I hope you will be looking down
Because, I will be looking up
No need to linger in the In Between
For Greatness awaits you!
